Family bought yong tau hoo, vegetable curry, wholemeal bread, curry chicken, and this bak kut teh thing. We ate it with rice. we set up a table with two big chairs and two metallic chairs from the aluminium table we brought, and then we set down to eat.
What a wonderful feeling. I was so so happy. Eating with the family, just the 4 of us at the beach. Just like when we were kids. It was kind of nostalgic because we used to go picnicking every single week or almost every week. I had a marvellous childhood to tell you the truth. My dad was like "we should picnic now. when you're old, you won't even care about us. you won't even have time to have a picnic with us". It was kind of sad because this meant that I was growing old and my parents were getting even older. It is sad, but it is inevitable.
I resolve to still make time for my parents for picnics and the sort even when I get married or am busy with work though. They gave me everything and this is the least I can do to repay them.
I am so lucky to be able to have some great parents and such a great childhood that even though I'm older now, I still have a very good relationship with them. When was the last time you hugged your parents? I try to hug them every opportunity I get.
